If you have three entries on your list, tap where the fourth would go. As is so often the case in Reminders, you get two choices: You can tap the Return key on the virtual keyboard, or you can tap the Done button at the upper right. If you want to save other details for your reminder—add a specific time or location at which the reminder should be triggered, schedule a recurring reminder, move it to another list, or add other notes—you need to tap your newly-added entry.

From the Details screen that appears, you can tap the Remind Me button to schedule a time- or location-based reminder. To set a time-based reminder, slide the On a Day switch to on, and then choose the date and time your Reminder should sound. Only tasks for which you have scheduled reminder times can be set to recur, repeating the reminder again at daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, or yearly intervals. Slide the Location slider to On, and you can schedule your alert to sound when you arrive at or depart from a specific location.

Reminders, by default, assumes you want your reminder to relate to your current location. Once you put in a reminder for something, you don't need to worry about it anymore.

It's easy to set up a reminder for your To Do item when you leave the office, arrive at home, or at a specific time what we use most often. You can also make "Lists" for various topics and uses. One of the best parts about Reminders is that when you type out an item, you can press Return to instantly move to the next item. In this way, you can make long checklists very quickly. Reminders also lives in your Notification Center so you can keep track of things due today.

Just pull down the Notifications Center by swiping down from the top bar on your phone. Once you check off items, they stick around for a few minutes.

Soon, your completed items move to Type in your iTunes ID and password in the fields that follow. Make sure the account is Enabled, and set the refresh rate to something that fits your activity volume, from every one minute to every hour. You can also set this interval manually. Once enabled on your Mac, go to your iOS devices and be sure to have iCloud enabled, at least for Reminders.

Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad, and tap on the iCloud button. Use the same iTunes account for iCloud that you did in the previous step. Be sure that Reminders is toggled to ON. Do this on each iOS device you want to sync your reminders to. Setting up a location-based reminder on the iPhone is fairly simple. Those lucky souls with an iPhone 4S can just ask Siri to do it for them, but — like the rest of us — they still need to have an address in a Contact entry on their iPhone to make it work properly.

To create a location-based Reminder is simple, at first. Tap on the newly created Reminder to get to the Details screen. You can also set the Reminder to notify you when you leave or when you arrive at the specified location. Currently, Reminders requires an address from your Contacts list or your current location when adding a location-based Reminder.

Or, you can use the Maps app to find an address or drop a pin and then save that pin as a Contact. To do that, open your Maps app. Search for a location nearby, like Home Depot.
