Can you miss street crimes in la noire

Already while working the case, I have been called on 3 street crimes. I screwed up the first one which was a long foot chase.

While chasing the perp I got stuck on a friggin' stair and he got away. I could not accept this so I started over. This time I got a totally different street crime call.

I think I may have driven a slightly different route. This makes me think that the calls may be triggered by passing a specific area of the game.

So I am looking to see if anyone can clear this issue up for me. Also, I wonder if I will ever be given the chance to take that first call again.

Do you have to complete every case in the story to a minimum number of stars in order to unlock all the side missions? I one-starred one of the cases which is why I ask. Thought maybe you have to get a minimum of three or something.

I don't know, I'm out of ideas. If you're in Free Roam shouldn't all unplayed Street Crimes appear as red icons? I've seen some street crimes that have characters from some cases in them so maybe it it that. Not sure though. I got one star on a bunch of cases and I got all 40 of them.

Occasionally when doing them in free roam it would make me do one I'd already done before which wouldnt count towards the Yeah, eventually it would just trigger new ones until it gave me nothing but new ones on that desk.

Gunmen have the front fortified, so you are to go around the back. Follow your partner to a nearby alley and head around back to the right and a grey door set back into the wall. Kick in the door, then the second door and take cover. Try to take them from a distance, as one has a shotgun. The remaining guy has gone up to the roof and taken a hostage with him.

Head up the next set of stairs to trigger the hostage scene. Shoot him and end the mission. Bristol Hotel at 8th Street. Guy with a shotgun holding up the clerk of the hotel. When he sees you he takes off running. Go through the hotel entrance and follow your partner into the back-right hallway. Once you reach the end of this hallway, exit the building through the open doorway.

Turn left through the alleyway and join your partner to see the suspect jacking a car and taking off. Follow in the car you hijack, staying as close as possible as usual. The car hangs a left onto 6th, then a right onto Olive. Let your partner get a clean shot on the tires.

As you cross the junction of 4th and Olive, the suspect veers into a parking lot and again takes off running up some stairs. You will instantly be shot at. There are two gunmen. Draw and auto aim at one of the guys to take him out quickly, before taking cover behind a vehicle. Then take the other down routinely. Uniformed officer has two robbers at gunpoint when the drunken store owner comes out waving a gun. This distraction gives the robbers enough time to pull out their own weapons.

Remain in the building as your partner lays down some cover fire, and take down both men from where you are, ending the case quickly. Four male suspects believed to be in the building. Cover the left side of the entrance, while your partner covers the right wall. Swing out and shoot as many as you can before they settle into cover. Then move and cover behind the columns to take out the other two.

When these five are taken down, another appears on your map. Disturbance at Olvera Street Plaza. Old man with a gun arguing with his wife, officer gets involved and is shot. Find the suspect on your map and head towards him, ducking in and out of cover to avoid his gunfire. The guy flees, but keeps taking pot-shots at you as he does.

He runs left down a row of pallets, and stops at the end to look around, so this is your best chance to take him, but there are plenty of opportunities. Possible jumper at the Methodist Church on the corner of 8th and Hope. It is timed, but there is no way of telling exactly how you are doing, so just go as fast as you can. Follow your partner as he veers left into an alleyway, then left again around a corner.

Follow Galloway again, and he stops facing your destination, so run past him and up the ladder to the bell tower. Complete in time to close the case. Suspicious activity at South Alameda. When you arrive at the warehouse, the guys spot you and a fight breaks out.

Once both are down, the third guy, who you may recognise as Frank Morgan from the main story, gets into the stolen truck and takes off. Man with a gun on Grand between 4th and 5th. As you are receiving the information, the suspects drive off quickly.

Follow them as close as you can, they take the first two immediate rights, then a left into an alley. After the alley, they get out at a gas station and one takes a hostage.

As before, the trick is not to adjust your aim from the cinematic and pop his head off when he moves it into your line of fire. Afterwards, Galloway is looking up a ladder to the gas station roof. Climb it, and the other suspect is up there waiting. Hide behind cover and take him out. Pursue the suspect, who shoots back at you every now and again. He heads left into an alleyway, then veers left again at the end, making it difficult to get a shot off at him.

He then climbs a long pipe up to the rooftops, follow him up and then head right and jump the gap to another ladder on the second building. Bank of America, 7th and Olive. Uniformed officer says there are around half a dozen guys inside, and that they are real professionals. Start off behind the police car and pop up to take out the two guys behind the cars in front of you. Then get a new weapon out of the trunk of your car.

Head towards the entrance to the bank and take cover on the right, unoccupied column or behind the counter with your partner. Three blips appear on the map, two on the floor and one on the stairs to the right. Take out the guy on the stairs first, as he can fire over your cover. Then aim for the other two. You may need to advance for the second one. Turn right and take the elevator down. On the lower vault floor, head towards the downed employee and find the open room to the left, and the red dots appear on your map again.

Take cover behind the entry and take out the gunman in the next room. Then enter the room and see the open vault on your right. Take cover on the left side of the entrance. Then head into the vault and charge right to cover behind the desk.

Do it quickly to avoid the guy covering behind a different desk. Take him out, then head for where he was to get an aim on the final guy. When you arrive, it seems that Scott has had enough of the guys and starts to take shots at them. The suspects take off when you arrive. Follow them around the large billboard and into a metal shack on the other side.

Inside, Galloway shows you the ladder you need to climb down. Follow the hallway around until you spot the two suspects, and then take cover behind the large crate. Pop in and out to take shots at them.
