How is bane so strong

His father abandoned him and his mother passed away shortly after his birth. In a sink or swim situation, Bane made the most of his circumstances. He became the top dog at the prison, which led to a stunning run of global dominance. Maybe Dorrance would have been a normal man if he had a typical upbringing. With a deadbeat dad and a no mom, Bane had no one to care for and mold him into his future self. He sought to become incredibly intelligent, so he read countless books. He mastered meditation and even invented his own form of it.

Plenty of characters are victims of circumstance. They would have crumbled under the insurmountable odds that Bane faced from the moment of his birth.

Bane rose above his environment and forced himself into peak spiritual and physical health. After Bane rose to power within the prison, the guards decided to knock him down a notch. The jailers forced Dorrance to participate in what had been an unsuccessful experiment to create a super soldier. When other prisoners were exposed to Venom, none of them survived the experience.

The guards still made a test subject out of Bane. However, he lived to see its staggering effects. Rather than serving his captors or the government, Bane made his way to Gotham, and the rest is history. Bane had his sights set on Batman long before they met. When fellow inmates spread stories of a monster in Gotham, it was only a matter of time before Bane clashed with Batman. Gotham itself fascinated Bane, too. Like the prison he had called home for his entire life, Gotham was fueled by fear.

Bane sought to end that reign of dominance so he could set the city free. At the end of his time with the Secret Six, Bane is arrested again but, once more, he manages to escape. Even when Bane is not in captivity, he helps liberate others.

Any time Dorrance is captured, he continues to demonstrate that no prison can hold him, or his allies, for long. When Bane defeated Batman and forced the Dark Knight into temporary retirement, he drastically changed the landscape of crime in Gotham. Logically, Bane filled the sudden void of power. No other villain could flaunt such a legitimate claim to the throne and, additionally, no one dared to oppose the man that broke Batman. He then leaves Gotham without fighting Batman to begin a search for his father.

Bane's search brings him back to Santa Prisca shown in the Bane of the Demon miniseries published in The priest explains that there were four men who could possibly have been his father: a Santa Priscan revolutionary, an American doctor, an English mercenary, and a Swiss banker. Talia introduces Bane to her father, and eventually Bane impresses Ra's so much that he chooses Bane as his heir an "honor" he had previously imparted on Batman.

Ra's al Ghul and Bane then launch a plague attack on Gotham in the "Legacy" storyline. Bruce Wayne, again costumed as Batman, gets his rematch with Bane in Detective Comics September and finally defeats him in single combat.

Since then, whenever Batman and Bane square off in battle, their fights usually end in a draw. Following the "Legacy" storyline, Bane appears in a one-shot publication called Batman: Bane and fights Azrael in the "Angel and the Bane" storyline in "Azrael" December - April After having presumably broken out of the prison where he is put, he runs off to Colombia.

Following a fallout with Ra's al Ghul, Bane later embarks on a campaign to destroy Lazarus Pits around the world, and in the process, encounters Black Canary in Birds of Prey 26 February According to the Jesuit priest that Bane speaks with in "Bane of the Demon" 1, there is a possibility that Bane's biological father is an American doctor.

In researching this issue, Bane comes to the conclusion that he and Batman share Dr. Thomas Wayne as their biological father, with Dr. Wayne having apparently become close to Bane's mother during his time in Santa Prisca. Bane alerts Batman to this possibility, and during the time that the DNA tests are being performed, stays at Wayne Manor and fights alongside Batman on the streets of Gotham in the "Tabula Rasa" storyline Gotham Knights , November - February Ultimately, it is revealed that Dr.

Wayne is not Bane's father, and Bane leaves Gotham peacefully and with Batman's blessing and financial backing to pursue leads in the snowy mountains of Kanchenjunga. Bane, with Batman looking on, helps foil King Snake's plans to unleash a powerful weapon upon the world.

Bane saves Batman from being shot by King Snake, but is mortally wounded in the process. Batman then saves Bane by bathing him in a Lazarus Pit, and leaves him with a clean slate and a new opportunity at life.

During the battle, he breaks the back of the hero, Judomaster, killing him. No reason was given for his actions in 7, though in Infinite Crisis s collected edition, one of the many changes made to the original series was Bane saying "I finally know who I am.

I am Bane, I break people" while breaking Judomaster's back. To win their trust, he tells them how, prior to the Battle of Metropolis, he returned to his homeland to put an end to the drug lords' government, in the process discovering that a new, more addictive strain of Venom had been created.

In his furious carelessness to wipe out the drug trade, he was captured, and re-implanted with the cranial tubes, hooked to the new Venom, but now unable to shake off his addiction without dying from the withdrawal. Bane was forced to work as an enforcer for the drug cartel, unable to escape. Believing that Bane sought Rex Tyler's expertise in chemistry, Rick lets him approach his father, only to discover that the story is a ruse.

Bane, who had never truly been addicted to Venom, had in fact wiped out the drug lords, and destroyed every research note on Venom. He discovered in the process both strains of Venom derived from Rex Tyler's early research on Miraclo. He discovers from the Tylers that no written notes exist of Rex's work, captures Rex, and steals Rick's equipment, planning to kill Rex and force Rick to take the last of the new Venom, living forever as an addict.

Rick manipulates Bane into using Miraclo and demolishing the building as he and his father escape, burying the mercenary in the rubble of the very same Santa Priscan penitentiary where his story began. To that end Selina Kyle was recruited and she retrieved Wayne's fingerprints, including his thumbprint, for them to use to accomplish the financial fraud.

However, due to a phone sting regarding the location of a missing congressman, some police officers, including Commissioner James Gordon ended up stumbling upon Bane's group in the sewers, the new League of Shadow's hideout.

Bane liNolanverseuted one of the henchmen delivering Gordon to him for drawing him to the place, before having the other shoot Gordon.

He also retrieved Gordon's speech that was intended to expose the truth behind the events of Dent's death and give his resignation as Commissioner.

When Gordon ended up going down the rapid sewer waters to escape, Bane had a henchman "follow" him by placing a cell phone on him and then sending him down the rapids, anticipating the likelihood that Gordon would survive falling into the rapids after the henchman made the mistake of implying that he died in the rapids.

Afterwards, Bane arrived at the Gotham Stock Exchange to complete the plan of putting Bruce Wayne into bankruptcy, and placed a cement truck in the way manned by a henchman. He also took hostages in order to ensure that the police did not try to attack them. Bane on a motorcycle very briefly crossed paths with Batman on the Batpod who was in pursuit. After Selina attempted to find the clean slate drive at Daggett's penthouse only to find the safe empty, Bane and the mercenaries arrived to secure the area.

The then expendable Daggett was then killed by him, and his body was put into a dumpster. After Bruce met with Selina Kyle at her apartment about finding Bane, Selina offered to Bane to lead Batman into Bane's sewer lair in exchange for survival insurance. Bane and Batman began to fight each other.

Batman fought valiantly to stop the terrorist, but the many years of isolation and lack of training had left the dark knight in a weakened state and unable to keep up with Bane's superior strength and speed.

Bane was attacked relentlessly, but the blows seemed to do no damage at all and only staggered him. Bane managed to easily and quite brutally overpower, outmaneuver, and outthink Batman. Bane then revealed that they were under Wayne Enterprises's secret armory and his plan to use the equipment to "bring justice".

Bane then countered Batman's last attack and slipped one of his vertebrae. He delivered a crippled Bruce Wayne to the Pit prison he himself was formerly imprisoned in, and stated that he wouldn't kill a man that did not fear death, as he intended to psychologically torture him with the slow demise of Gotham City with Bruce being unable to do a thing.

Bane said that when Gotham becomes ashes, then Bruce would have his permission to die. Afterwards, Bane went to the Wayne Enterprises board room where he brought Miranda, Lucius Fox , and Douglas Fredericks from there to the Wayne Enterprises fusion reactor bunker and had Pavel modify the reactor into a nuclear bomb and he had the core removed so that it also became a time bomb.

In addition, he also had the police lured to the hideout to be trapped, and eventually detonated the explosives laced around the city, killing hundreds of people, including Mayor Anthony Garcia.

Anticipating that Gordon was still recovering at the hospital, he also sent two of his men to kill Gordon, although Gordon managed to kill them before either of them could lay a finger on him. He then brought the bomb out to the entire public, and after having Pavel explain its properties, he killed him in front of everyone. Bane said that he had given the detonator to a citizen who would push the button if they didn't comply to his rules. Raised in a prison on the island of Santa Prisca for the crimes of his father, Bane dedicated his life to honing his mind and body into a perfect weapon.

In order to wage his unending war on injustice, Batman has developed his body as perfectly as he has his mind. A man who stands in many ways as his exact opposite—a physical marvel and a genius without peer. But whereas the Dark Knight was born to fight crime, Bane was destined for a life of corruption.

Born in a prison on a remote Caribbean island, Bane was raised without pity or compassion. As an adult, he served as a test subject for the super-steroid called Venom. Superhumanly strong, Bane escaped his hell and headed to Gotham City—where he chose to make his mark by defeating the Batman.

Though he succeeded, their initial battle was far from their last. Often at war with his personal dependence on the super-serum that gives him his strength, Bane will never stop fighting to prove he deserves to rule. Dorrance and his men aided rebels against the government in Santa Prisca when they were captured by commandos. Dorrance escaped, leaving behind a partner carrying his unborn child.
